Whilst interning with ECHO brand design I got the opportunity to work on a project with fashion designer Katie Eary. She came to ECHO looking for invitation ideas for her SS15 catwalk show.
I took creative lead on this project and came up with ideas based on her theme for the collection of a 'Dallas rodeo'
We then decided to go with a Texas BBQ theme and ran that throughout the three different tier options; Tier 1 to go out to more high profile guests such as editors and designers with a courier, Tier 2 to be sent in the post and Tier 3 to be sent via email to bloggers and friends.
Tier 1 had to be something different and exciting for the receiver. I came up with the idea of putting the invitation inside a hot dog shaped balloon that you have to pop with a BBQ fork to get inside. This creates an interaction between the guest and Katie whilst hinting to her Rodeo theme.
Tier 2 was a similar nod to the BBQ theme with a die cut steak shaped invite. The details for the show were printed on the back and used a gradient Katie had designed for her collection.
Tier 3 had to be something that can easily be sent via email and retain the same level of interaction and BBQ theme. We did this by creating a GIF that reenacted the idea from Tier 1 and presented the information at the end.
